Three years ago I stopped shooting film and switched to digital cameras. One of the biggest perks is the ability to shoot in low to no light. It's a total game changer. Here are some of my favorite lowlight shots from the last few months@fosterhunting via Instagram
Showing my 91 year old grandmother, Trudy, around the tree houses. She made it to the tallest tree house, up three flights of stairs and a 30 foot suspension bridge. She's had an amazing life, growing up in the Jungles of Panama, studying the Amish and teaching anthropology at the University of Michigan, and protesting various wars (she was arrested in 2013 protesting the war in Iraq). I hope when I'm her age, I'm running around protesting, seeing the eclipse and climbing up tree houses.@fosterhunting via Instagram

Greater Love hath no man than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. . Much of what I get to enjoy is built upon the shoulders of others. A moment to reflect on those who gave everything in order to preserve our liberties is always needed on this #memorialday - thank you. . This photo, although seemingly unrelated, represents a freedom I love most, the ability to observe nature in its purest form.@chrisburkard via Instagram
Perfection often isn’t what we’d thought it’d be, it’s much softer and kinder and looser. It has rounded edges and smells like earth and evergreens, it sounds like hope and tastes like the seasons change, subtle and constant. - - Storm Mountain Lodge in Banff National Park, 🇨🇦, by @markusroith via @upknorth #cabinlove #explorebc #canada #cabinlife@cabinlove via Instagram
A 4 a.m. start turned into a 7 a.m. stumble out the door thanks to an all night dog bark marathon. With about two hours sleep in our legs, we still managed to find a ridge traverse to a prayer flag covered summit. But the day’s highlight...... loudly clapping in the ear of a snoozing dog as we returned to Namche. Revenge is sweet.@danpatitucci via Instagram

It’s Memorial Day Weekend and the unofficial start to summer. Woohoo! I’m taking over the @dominomag account so you can go dream about all the cabins you’re going to book this summer. Jump over and go binge on all that cabin candy 🌲🏕🏡🌲 This interior shot is from Yosemite, CA, at the @far_meadow A-Frame. You can find it on Cabin Escapes and also on @boutiquehomes. 📸 @lady_bro #cabinlove #thatssodomino #aframe #cabinlife #cabineer #cabin #yosemite #highsierras #MDW@cabinlove via Instagram
In three weeks, the #Vanlife book that I've been working on for the last year comes out! @philliptannand whipped up some limited edition bumper stickers for the release. Best part is that they are free with a preorder of the book. Follow the link in my profile to preorder your copy or upload your sales receipt (if you've already ordered it!) to get your stickers. I'm super happy with how the book turned out and can't wait for people to start checking them out 🙏🏻💪🏻@fosterhunting via Instagram

A cairn made of fishing floats and other ocean refuse marks arrival at Guise Bay. @northwesterly and I came upon 3-4 wolves not too far away from here, roaming the dunes and curious of our presence... This weekend marked 3 years since I left SF and moved to Colorado. Spent it skiing and climbing with rad friends, like a good Coloradan. Still the best decision I’ve ever made. 🤘🏻😛🤘🏻@kylefrost via Instagram
Fire in the Yosemite backcountry.. We often think of fire as such a destructive force. But perhaps the most amazing adaptation is that of evergreen trees, specifically Pine & Sequoias, that need fire to release their seeds to sprout. Literally melting the thick resin of the pine cone & clearing the ground for germination. Wilderness has been a pretty good teacher.@chrisburkard via Instagram
I’m so excited to launch a project tomorrow that I (@lady_bro) have been working on with @forestbound for a bit now. I can’t say much but it definitely involves cabins and we’re both so nervous / happy / really happy to see what you think (😬). Keep an eye out tomorrow and, in the meantime, enjoy this stunner from @dezeen —-> Designed by Anthony Hunt Design and Luke Stanley Architects, this tent-y rental lives on a rural hill New South Wales, Australia. 5 years ago, I was driving from Ventura to Carpinteria along the Pacific Coast Highway checking for surf and spotted this VW T3 Westfalia. At the stage in my life, I was spending most of my time lurking up and down the coast of California, surfing by day, stealth camping by night and amassing a near encyclopedic knowledge of hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurants from LA to San Francisco. As a van dweller, I was always on the lookout for other people living in their vans, and this person's van/drying rack caught my eye. I snapped a few frames of my Mamiya 6, and went on my way. When it came time to lay out Home Is Where You Park It with @victoryjournal, I knew I wanted to use this image for the cover. It conveys so much of what I loved about my time spent living in my van; self reliance, the sense of freedom and discovery of having your own escape pod, and the accessibility of reconnecting with nature (in this case the ocean) on the relative cheap. Every time I look at this photo, it takes me back. The fourth edition of Home Is Where You Park It is now back in stock in my web store (follow the link in my profile or head to store.arestlesstransplant.com) to get a copy before they are gone (I order 1000 at a time and they go fast!) and use the discount code Vanlife10 to get 10% off. #vanlife@fosterhunting via Instagram

This is my eighth time in the Himalaya. They have consistently crushed and humbled me. Acclimatization goes well but a respiratory problem always follows. This kicks off a nasty cycle of coughing, poor sleep, high heart rate, and finally a stressed body that just can’t do what I trained it for. This trip has been no different and now that we’re facing our trail running goal I’m questioning my form. @kimberly.strom and I have a few days before we have to make decisions based on our conditions.@danpatitucci via Instagram
